Dean’s Message

Faculty of Health Sciences has taken part among highly recognized public institutions in Turkey with its outstanding departments. It makes the health care sector stronger day by day with new graduates who become skilled health managers, physiotherapists, nurses, midwifes and dieticians.

One of the advantages of our faculty is its location. Istanbul is the largest city of Turkey where the health sector proliferates very fast. Being a part of one of the largest state universities of Turkey is another advantage. Our students are educated properly in accordance with values of our vision and mission, and they can keep making progress with national and international exchange programs.

Department of Health Management has a long experience in the field and is a reference institution for whole health sector in Turkey. Students can get business connections even during their internship and graduates do not have difficulties in finding jobs.

Department of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation accepts students with high scores. Particularly master’s programs of this department on specific areas like “cardiopulmonary rehabilitation” see strong demand. Graduates find jobs easily.

Department of Nursing is one of the country's most influential departments with its day and evening master’s programs, and a doctoral program. Its graduates are highly appreciated.

Department of Midwifery graduates are preferred particularly due to their clinical experience.
Department of Nutrition & Dietetics is the only department in Istanbul which belongs to a public university.

Students in the faculty choose a work area during their last year with the implementation of compulsory internship, thus they graduate as experienced and specialized persons.

The faculty will have special facilities and a research and application centre in "Başıbüyük Health Campus" of Marmara University by 2014. Education and supervised health service delivery to public will likely be performed simultaneously.

Our main aim in accordance with the strategic plan of our university is to become the most important institution within the health sector of the country, an effective and respected institution for creating health policies, and the internationally recognized faculty in the field along with its collaborations.

I thank to our valuable professors, colleagues and other faculty members for their joint effort to equip our students with good leadership skills, respect to society's and ethical values, competence for applying knowledge, capability to produce solutions, and positive attitude. I strongly wish a lifelong success and happiness both to our dear students and alumni, who have decided to be here with us and walked together.
